Looking for Pulp Arabs
« on: August 22, 2008, 03:36:44 PM »
Fully robed, and carrying submachine guns? Any suggestions?  One of the players in my group is insistent on playing one of the Bedouin tomb guards from the "The Mummy"  So far the best idea I can come up with is to buy an open-handed Artizan or Castaway figure and slap a n smg in in his hand.

Any suggestions appreciated

Depends how picky you are on weapon types...  I use TAG Taliban for my  Nrallat (Tallarn...) desert forces:

Also look at Brigade Games. The WWI range has a pack of Lawrence of Arabia style arabs sculpted by Mike Owen (Artizan). They go well with the Artizan Thrilling Tales ones too.

Pulp Arabs with submachine guns seems a bit counter-intuitive (ie. not like something that's likely to get sculpted) so I think you're pretty much forced to convert them, if you want them.
"When to keep awake against the camel's swaying or the junk's rocking, you start summoning up your memories one by one, your wolf will have become another wolf, your sister a different sister, your battle other battles, on your return from Euphemia, the city where memory is traded." - Italo Calvino

Thanks for all the replies.  Roderick, you're right-it doesn't seem anything likely to be sculpted soon.  Fortunately for me, the 'player' is my 13 year old son, and if I give him a week or two, he will want something else lol

I converted a few gunmen from GW's Harad plastic spearmen.  Of course on a couple I couldn't get the hands right so I replaced them with tentacles.
