1/72 frontline Bookmobile
« on: September 30, 2014, 09:00:50 PM »

I'm proud to show you our latest product, a 1/72 scale Catalan frontline bookmobile on Ford AA chassis. The Catalan Government pioneered during SCW the very first proper bookmobiles service in Spain, as a way to bring leisure and culture to the Republican soldiers. It consisted of a small fleet of adapted trucks/buses, whose task had to be visiting regularly field hospitals and rearguard encampments. One such bookmobiles was built on a Ford AA van chassis - and this is the one we've reproduced in this kit.

This mainly resin model kit is complimented by the white metal figure of a female driver/librarian, as well as a complete descals sheet allowing you to finish it up as either the mentioned bookmobile, a Spanish Republican ambulance and a fictional British bookmobile.

Some pictures and explanations else in Minairons Miniatures blog, minairons-news.blogspot.com/2014/09/new-172-frontline-bookmobile.html.

Cheers,
Lluís Vilalta

She doesn't look as if she would give you much leeway with overdue books........

Nice offbeat model.
