African conquest finished
« on: October 10, 2014, 08:20:00 AM »
All things come to an end, not just the good ones.

I finished my October resolutions batch yesterday with the final few explorers (you've already seen the Masai).
This finishes my African colonial backlog set.

This was a mixed bunch. Some Foundry Darkest Africa, some WI freebies and and a Foundry freebie I painted to fit with the theme.

Some stalwart explorers:

Fair ladies:

The lady in pink is in what I call an anime color scheme. You see this sort of "tan and beige" color schemes a lot in animation, but I usually don't do them. I think this one turned out ok, even though the Foundry Wine Red base color was a disappointment -- I couldn't get it to stick on black and even light gray was hard.

And finally... her I call Ororo:

Yeah, I still can't do 3-color metallics.

Nice figures Maxxon, I particularly like the African Queen where did she come from?

Nice work! The African queen is a gem.

She of the stormy disposition is a freebie from Foundry from maybe five years ago. I think she was actually an elf of some sort. If you look closely, the ears are pointy.

And yes, I intentionally didn't put pupils on her.
