Love the pantaloons.
Like the base detail too.

Personally, I'm not so keen on the figure - bit too cartoony for my tastes (that outsized scimitar is responsible I think...)
But each to their own  ;)

The face has a lot of character.

Indeed. Oversized, or at least that oversized, weapons on a miniature is vulgar.

I think it could be removed and replaced by a wire rapier..?

I can see why not everyone would like the oversized weapon, but the figure reminds me of Holywood's version of pirates from the 40s and 50s.  Errol Flynn in striped pants.

No secret.

Choose the colours - in this case a dark blue and a light blue.

Paint the whole area in the darkest shade of the darkest blue.
Paint in black lines.
Paint in darkest shade of lightest blue.  So you have Dark blue, black line, light blue, black line and so on.  Now tidy up those lines.
Now add mid-tone and highlights to the dark blue, then the light blue.  And make those highlights really light so it "pops."

He actually looks an awful lot like Nick Cravat who played Burt Lancaster's sidekick in The Crimson Pirate.

Ahh Yes, Nick Cravat. I used to love seeing that film on the Beeb, Usually around Christmas during the school holidays. I remember watching it whilst putting up the Christmas decorations one year. :)
Then they went onto make The Flame and the Arrow - Anybody remember that one?
Wasn't Nick Cravat supposed to have been Burt's circus acrobat partner, or did I just make that up?

I'm sure my dad told me that once Malamute, so unless he used to tell you the same lies, I think it's true.

Great job Orctrader. I'd never really considered this mini before, but now its got me thinking about an Eternal Champion project like my BPRD one, he'd make a neat Moonglum.... And with Hasslefree's forthcoming not-Elric...

And a shed load more spare cash than I actually ever will have....

There's always some damn thing.
