Their release pace is turning out to be rather impressive now that they can solely concentrate on their own stuff. Nice to see them starting to fill out the missing stuff on the Napoleonic side. If they would only now do the even more obscure Napoleonic troops like Finns and Swedes Then they would really be a true threat to my bank account balance.

These are marvellous!

Shame is I've got loads of the Foundry ones and I'm not going to "upgrade" as they're also excellent sculpts and also by the Perry twins as can be seen here:

Still, I shall have to get a couple of battalions plus the excellent mounted officers.

Can't wait to see if the Bavarian limber teams are going to be as fabulous as the Austrian ones that they've done.

perry's sure are small, but for napoleonic... is this a problem? Are there oversized napoleonic around?
(that's not rethorical, i really don't know much about this minis period)

Actually, the Bavarians above were done before the twins left GW (the greens have been on display on their website for a few months already). The impact of their departure on Perry Miniatures' output probably won't become apparent until the last quarter of 2014. And there are still plenty of gaps to fill out in the existing Russian, Prussian and Austrian napoleonic ranges. I also wonder if Alan intends to embark on pre-1812 Brits at some point as well as adding more pre-1812 French, though he's already covered the Peninsula in 40mm. In the end, I suppose it's just a matter of whether something tickles his fancy or not : if Alan is bitten by the bug, he'll sculpt the figures simply because he wants to do them, no matter how obscure the subject.

Why are these coming out now?
I spent a long time deciding which Confederation army to make and finally settled on Wurttemberg. Now that I've spent a fortune on metals and half a year painting them. Then along come the Bothers Perry with Bavarians!!!
If these figures had been available there would have been no contest.

Now I have to consider this new conundrum: Do I need to make a Bavarian Army?
I fear the answer might be: Yes.

Front Rank. Whilst very nice figures they are slightly over sized.

With two of the artillery codes the crews are in campaign dress, a mix of greatcoats and coatees. This, according to the most reliable artists of the period, was quite normal in the field.
