Egyptian Tomb Robbers
« on: October 19, 2014, 04:12:06 PM »
Here is a set of three Egyptian tomb robbers (one is actually a Libyan) which will be released as part of Dark Fable Miniatures Egyptian Adventure Indiegogo campaign starting on 2 November.  An interesting alternative to the usual fantasy medieval type adventurers . . .

Very nice! I may jump on board this time if you make the old figs add-ons too. It would be great if at some point you came up with some rules to back up this range? Maybe a collaborative effort with Ganesha? Or maybe something in the style of a board game?

Thanks for the positive feedback  :)  I would love to work on a set of rules specifically for these models - they were originally designed for my ancients campaign in which I use a modified version of the old Metagaming TFT rules, Melee/Wizard/In the Labyrinth.  I've recently come across Heroes and Other Worlds which is a further adaptation of the TFT rules with some Moldvay D&D rules thrown in (Highly Recommended and can be purchased on Lulu).  Ive head a lot of great things about Song of Blades and Heroes but have yet to try it.  Will definitely give it a look.

I'll be posting images of the 12 core sets for the Indiegogo shortly as all the greens have been completed and some are even at the casters!  Now its time to work on the stretchies we will hopefully reach.  Less than two weeks before it begins on 2 November  :o

They really are BEAUTIFULLY sculpted...nicely posed & very expressive. They'd fit WONDERFULLY in the Khemri/Araby setting for Mordheim. GREAT WORK!
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Here is set I of the Egyptian skeletal guards which your tomb robbers might encounter  lol  I based their armour, clothing and equipment on existing (living) characters in the range, the two skellies with shields are royal guards and the middle one is a eunuch guard.  I think Tim Prow did a great job on these.  He also sculpted a mummy pharaoh and a couple of skeletal concubines . . . also have a couple of undead creatures planned as stretch goals  ;)

The tomb robbers came out great but the skeleton version of other models is a real nice touch. The skeleton with the axe is my favorite in the undead crew. There is so much cool stuff in this next release my wallet trembles!

Love the skeletons.  I'm not much on involving "human" history in fantasy realms (dislike seeing random Samurai pop up in dungeons and dragons etc.) but I do love the Egyptian look so I'd probably make an exception.  lol

Nice figs.

Glad you guys like them.  Andy Pieper sculpted a great set of exotic pets for the upcoming Indiegogo, consisting of a leopard, hamadryas baboon and Nile crocodile.  Really nice detail on these animals perfect for animal companions, pets or guardians

Looks like it is live now.  I need to decide my pledge level.  Since my wife will likely consider this my Christmas present, I may want to go big!   ;)
