Cheap stand-ins for Warhammer Mangler Squigs
« on: October 31, 2014, 03:13:57 PM »
I find it so hard to justify Games Workshop pricing that I've resorted to toys again. Does this make me a tight-wad that chooses inferior "models" to game with or am I justified? Would the Warhammer players among you play against someone using the "squigs" I've cobbled together?

The Big Guys & their Little Friend are UBERCOOL. They have the silly virtue that made G.W'd Goblin & Squig teams fun without the G.W. price tag. VERY WELL DONE!

Those are wonderful.  Toybashing is the best.   Now let's see some paint on them.
This is my boomstick!

Nothing wrong with those, would grladly play against them. For me personally it doens't matter which brand modesl are or even (cheap) toys

When painted I think they look pretty good - I think you could have improved them a lot by altering the front feet to look a bit more natural though.

Never liked squigs anyway; frankly these look much better.

I think you would a hard time finding more appropriate toys to use as substitutes! They appear to have a decent texture to them and might profit from a liberal application of washes or a dip.
