Painted Alpha Zorgl from Golgo Island.
« on: October 26, 2014, 05:13:09 AM »
Finally got around to painting one of my favorite minis of all time, the Robot Monster inspired Alpha Zorgl from East Riding. Bob Olley did a truly outstanding job with this one.

For those of you who have never reveled in the joy of Robot Monster there is a video link on my blog:

Am I correct in thinking that I'm seeing shades of Lobster Man from Mars in this as well?  ;)

Nice painting too.

Love it.  I once knocked one up from a Harlequin gorilla and a HLBSCo deep-sea diver, but this is so much better!

Really great work. There's some really nice figs in the Golgo Island line. I recently picked up the Not-cobra-commander and am very much looking forward to painting him.

Top work! Been a while since I've seen anything Golgo related. One of the few models from that range that was really good (although the guy who was behind Golgo did start to show some promise with his later sculpts - whatever happened to him?).
