Army Painter Quick shade test (Method 2)
« on: August 30, 2008, 01:06:40 PM »
I uploaded my second test about the use of the Army Painter - Quick shade

http://perrysheroes.free.fr/spip.php?article179

This time, I highlighted the minis (mainly the uniform) before using the quick shade. It's really better and may be a little faster as it's not really easy to highlight after the quickshade (because of the gloss).

I'm really happy as I managed to paint about 24 Bolt Action Minis ( Paul Hicks's minis  have a lot of details) in one week ( about 10-12 hours). Only 12 minis left and my first platoon will be ready.

Nice work! I would like to try this product sometime myself. I’ve read a lot on the net about it and it seem that peoples either like it or hate it… I will need to make my own mind on this later.  ;)

I have a question for you. Did you highlight the hand and face of the figures too or just the uniform? Do this Quick Shade product is a good “flesh wash” or do it leave bad stain on lighter flesh tone?  :?
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

No, I painted them with a flesh colour, then I quickshaded them, finally I painted the eyes and highlighted the face (a little) . But I think it would be my test #3

I think that if you painted the quickshade (and though I didn't dip my minis in) very carefully, it should be fine.
