Hello friendly LAFers!
Just yesterday I released the WW2 version of my game
Some Corner of a Foreign Field. It has already reached #1 on the Wargame Vault!
It is a squad level game for 4-15 models per side. Using just a d20 or two, it models close range infantry firefights on boards from 2x2 to 8x8, anywhere from Normandy to the Far East. Make sure you bring plenty of cover, because if you're hit, there's a good chance you're going down - better to not get seen at all! A spotting mechanic means that a careful advance pays dividends, because your enemy can't kill you if they can't see you...
Including rules for offboard support, casualties and morale under fire, Some Corner of a Foreign Field is a quick and easy game to get the blood pumping and the bullets flying. This edition has been subtly tweaked from the original modern version of the game in response to the many playtesters who used it for games set sixty years earlier than intended, in order to provide a game that more accurately reflects the difficulties of leading a squad through the sharp end of the War of Wars.
These rules are also available as part of the original
Some Corner of a Foreign Field download file, along with lots of modern-era Squad Lists and a bonus Halloween supplement.
Originally written for 20-28mm models, the game works just as well for 15mm models and smaller if distances are reduced to centimetres, and for 40mm+ if all distances are doubled.
SCoaFF is part of Morningstar's Tactical Two Pager series. These are simple but engaging games full of fun and flavour, that take up only two sides of A4, eliminating the need for a quick reference sheet and providing a cheap source of entertainment to wargamers everywhere.
