Oh, now that looks very promising, Thomas.
 8) 8)

I should have never told you about that! ;) I'll need to change my avatar now!!

That looks lovely mate  :-* :-* :-*

Is it all styrene as the cab sides look to be a little thick?

cheers

James

Cheers mate!

It's mostly foamed pvc. It's a lot easier to cut and I can also angle the edges for that 'sci-fi' look. There is some small plastic card in there.

Looking great - beautiful work. :-* :-* :-*

Are you going to cast the wheels?

Thanks Braz!

Hopefully I can get it all cast up!

This - build and cast the chassis then use it for all sorts of vehicles!

That's a good idea. I can see waste lorries and transporters amongst other things.

So seeing the inspiration pictures next to the build photos on this thread has made me unhappy! I don't like the start of the container on the back! :'(

So that part has now been scraped and used to start the chassis underneath the cab.

I've also realised I've never posted up the finished version of this wee guy. I decided not to arm him with the 'Point-of-View' gun. I'm needing more civilian stuff for my table. Robots included.

Thanks for all the supportive comments guys!

Didyou find it a bit 'chewy' when sanding it?

I like the idea of a grav version.
I'm thinking of a single axel, but 4 wheels. Similar to the drawing..

Hover ttrucks as well as hover cars? In all honesty, just leaving the wheels off might work?

Bloody marvellous!

Excellent!

Thanks very much gents!

Will do! ;)

Cheers Jim!

Most of the angles were cut with a sharp knife first. You just need a steady hand! There wasn't much sanding. Just enough to tidy up.

I'm really impressed by this as well, kudos!

Thanks Zaheer! I'm not used to seeing you on the Future Board!

That really is an exceptionally smooth bit of work, mate.

Rich, there's a difference between foamboard and foamed PVC. Foamed PVC feels more like a light weight plastic card while foamboard is more like card stock glued to either side of the foam. I tend to use foamboard for doing buildings.

Here's the stuff I got from Antenocities......
