Start of a 2000AD/Megacity One Project(Biker Chick 16/3/19)
« on: October 31, 2014, 11:19:33 AM »
I've always wanted to do this but there was a lot of bits and pieces I could never work out how I wanted to do it.

My plan (eventually) will be to have a board with a fair bit of height, but still be playable. I'm still working on ideas for it.

In the mean time though I received a couple of cars last week I thought would be perfect for this. This ones the first....

I've bought a couple of telescopic aerials to build flight stands with for these also. I'm just waiting for the delivery.

Ooooo, shiny  :-* :-* :-* Love the windows on that!

Are we going to have little comp to see who has the highest playable table  ;)

I reckon this'll be an absolute corker mate  8) 8)

What sort of building style are you going for, Stallone Dredd, Urban Dredd, comic Dredd, something else?

cheers

Cracking job Andy, I'm really interested in seeing the telescopic stands.

I haven't forgotten about the images by the way, I just can't find the box with the Judge Dredd comics in it. I've found Green Arrow,  Superman,  Legends of the Dark Knight and Batman so far. It'll be in the boxes right at the back no doubt!

Lovely car, still annoyed I can't buy those.

I did find one of these on a market stall the other day though.

No missiles so only cost me £2. Snapped the launchers off the sides and started to clean it up a bit. With a repaint it should work nicely, certainly a good scale.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Cracking start, mate.
That paintjob is wonderful and you really nailed those windows!
 :-* :-*

I am so glad that I am going for an interior-only thing for my stab at MC-1.
Looking forward to seeing your solution regarding buildings.

This may sound crazy, but have you considered using the body of an old Dyson or similar for the basis of an MC-1-style building?
Things like that could provide an excellent basis for the weird building style of the comics....
 ;)

Maybe the casing of an original iMac would work too!

Lovely hover car.  :D

I'm hoping you go for comic Dredd. I've got some old Citadel Judge Dredd figures primed up ready to go.  ;)

I'd had similar thoughts about how to do a MC1layout,  probably on a 4'x4' board. A typical block will dwarf most gaming tables so I'd thought about a largely interior set up as Paul suggests, which I'll also use for my Aliens set up (when they come from Prodos). I'd still like an exterior set up though and I'd love to go multi level as Andy wants to do (though my efforts will be dog shit in comparison  lol). There's a load of mdf industrial scifi Kits on ebay but the thing with them is they often don't make a lot of sense; I prefer terrain to look like it has a purpose. I'm thinking more multi level shopping and housing areas, not unlike Billingham used to be (for those in North East England). Maybe a flyover road too.

Sorry Andy,  I'm hijacking your thread here!
