Some wonderful creations here. Who produces those panzergrenadiers or are they partly converted? Nice paintjobs on all of them.

Whilst I love to suspend belief, walkers are really a bit much for me too. I like the idea of spidery/scorpion-like things, but the two-legged variety just look ready to fall over all the time  :(

I do love the Star Wars At-At, though.

Two legs bad, four [or more] legs good?  ;)

That's not to say that I dislike the models Sir Henry and others have produced, splendid things that they are!

I think that my philosophy is that if it looks good and you can give it enough period feel on the table then go for it. The advantages of two legged machines (manouverability etc) could be a justifiable reason why some crazed Victorian engineer has tried it out and that could be balanced by the downside (balance, vulnerability) in the stats you play it with.

It means trying to 'downtech' a lot of sci fi models out there like the GW Sentinels or the WOTC Star Wars stuff but I've always been happy with the results. It's a fine balance though as they can end up looking like some strange post apocalyptic Mad Max creation..

Also, I think that by themeselves these things can look a little OTT (*two legs, four legs ,whatever... But against a backdrop of a couple of platoons of regulars and 'normal' troop types they blend in quite well.

Now ...must get back to converting that AT AT.

As noted, those are plastic Warzone figures back from 1999, originally released in the box set of the second edition of said rules. They are made from a hard plastic (ABS, I suspect) and pop up frequently on the net cheaply - I got a hundred or so to use in a "Not-Deathkorps" project back when I still played 40k in 2006 for 8 Euros. I donīt know the exact source, though.

The above figures are Bauhaus Ducal Militia, although the commander seems to have suffered a headswap with his Imperial alter ego. THat said, the heads are separate, so you could easily convert them. However, the figures only have two poses for the regular infantry and an extra sarge and an HMG specialist, so you are a bit limited.

Fantastic. With one notable exception. My hatred of Sci-Fi Walkers in WWWII is now extended to VSF. Can nobody else see that they just don't fit in? I dearly love LAF, but I wish it wouldn't keep throwing walkers at me. I hate walkers!!!!

I disagree. I LOVE them. One of the reasons Im interested in the genre.  Big metal walky things, Boilers and rivets.

and tea of course!

I half-recognize those vehicle repair crew figures. Are they conversions? Something from the West Wind Gothic horror range with tools shoved into their hands? Or am I mistaken?

They are the East European Politzi pack from Westwind's Gothic Horror range. Tools are 1/43 and 1/32 scale packs from S&D Models:

http://www.sanddmodels.co.uk/products_43.htm

I am also painting Westwind's Zendarian Troopers with pistols to use as crews for abandoned vehicles.

Very interest sets. I love them. The idea of Politszis for mechanics is very clever and inspiring. Just another question, a bit off topic:

Does anyone know whether the 1/43 figures included in the SandD list are suitable to mix with the 28mm Victorians produced by the other companies?

Oh yes, I have to agree they are definitely look cool, but I just get that nagging feeling of imminent collapse all the time :?

Mind you, I'll  probably end up getting one or two, then make up a rule for having them trip or fall with disastrous results  lol

The figures sold by S&D are stand over 40mm tall to the tops of their heads, so are too tall for 28mm. However, some of them make great Victorian statues ....
