And Stay Down! Halloween 2014

Last night our gaming group played through the first zombie apocalypse scenario of my And Stay Down rules.

In the scenario the survivors must search the city to locate the source of the outbreak and then destroy it whilst a never ending tide of zombies pours on to the board.

The survivors deployed in the centre of the board with Laura and Redneck Rose positioning to search for loot in the junk yard.



The zombies start appearing and slowly closing in on the survivors.


Oh no! What's this? A surprise attack by a crawler catches Michelle off guard injuring her.


The Governor wades in to help the distressed teenager putting the crawler down with ease.


The zombies start to close in on the survivors out in the open who play a delaying game to allow their comrades to search the nearby buildings.


It would appear that O'Malley's Irish pub is no longer a safe place to be - good job The Governor manages to search it first.


Some concentrated crossfire thins the zombies who have been closing in on the survivors. These ones may be down but there are plenty more closing in.


Laura, The Survivalist and Redneck Rose all team up to try and search peach trees whilst Theia and Michelle try and search the Towers in the distance. Those zombies are getting very close.


And with unnatural vigour the zombies try and take on Laura whilst The Survivalist tries to help.


Meanwhile The Governor is looking like he might be in trouble over by "Better call Paul". He might be a one man army but can he really fend off all those Zs?


Redneck rose fights herself out of a bit of trouble but it looks like she won't get a chance to search that building. The survivors must be getting pretty close to finding the objective by now. Things are getting a bit hairy and Laura disappears under a pile of zombies - she will be missed.


Theia and Officer Baricza (Laura's replacement from the survivor pool) locate the source of the outbreak at the expense of their own safety. Precinct 12 must be destroyed.


The Survivalist has the RPG and is therefore best equipped to destroy the objective but it looks like the zombies have it in for her. Laura's pistol lies on the floor next to her body.


Tim contemplates The Governor's imminent demise whilst Nat celebrates Redneck Rose's escape from a bit of a tight spot.


Michelle decides that she'd better make a swift exit as the zombies try and hunt her down.


The zombies swarm into Peach Trees and The Survivalist looks like she could be in trouble. If she goes down that RPG will be tough to retrieve.


The weight of zombies finally proves too much for The Governor and he is replaced by Spike from the Survivors pool. That's two survivors down - Dan the zombie controller needs to eat 5 more to win the game.


Theia's gamble didn't pay off for her. Can the zombies take out 4 more survivors before the objective is destroyed?


Redneck Rose and Jack Bayer (Theia's replacement) step in to help out The Survivalist. Can she make a break for it and RPG Precinct 12?


Its getting close - more zombies are in the way and The Survivalist can't get a clear shot just yet.


Officer Baricza looks doomed but manages to hold them off for now. He really should be thinking more about his own safety - doesn't he know what's about to happen to that building?


In a surprise move Spike swaps items with he team mates and then makes a break for it with a fuel can and some matches. Its all on this roll of the dice ... and he makes it! Precinct 13 is burned to the ground and the survivors win the game.

Overall the game was a lot of fun but Dan's Zombies suffered from some low activation rolls at key moments. The survivors worked much better as a team than we'd seen in previous games and fought their way out of some dangerous situations. This was the first time the survivors have pulled off a win - which meant 6 players got to celebrate instead of just one. A few minor tweaks will probably be needed before our next game but that's about all.

I like the look of your game.
A close game with lots of interesting events.

Great reprot and good looking game who makes the plastic buildings?

The plastic buildings are from a mix of manufacturers - Italeri, Amera, Dust Tactics etc.
