Sad news, Eureka have closed their 100 Club

From their newsletter today:

** Club 100/300 Update
------------------------------------------------------------

With the rise of crowdfunding we have discovered that the need for the 100 and 300 Clubs has disappeared. We have had many successful ranges created with this concept, such as the flying monkeys, 15mm Moderns and 28mm Jazz band.

All good things must come to an end however and the Clubs will be discontinued with immediate effect. We thank all of you who supported us over the years and trust you have had as much pleasure from the resulting figures as we have.

------------------------------------------------------------

Understandable, but sad for nostalgia at the very least :'(

Good luck with all your new ventures, Nic

I would assume a kickstarter campaign would be a lot quicker and garner more results. So this is probably a good move.

I assume it's probably more effort than it was worth.

Hopefully planned too is a revitalised website, which will give the "brand" a new lease of life (one reason I think to drop outdated ranges). Like most manufacturers, you want your product to be associated with quality (so more miniature sculpts from Marsh, Kosta et al. ;)).

thats mad.

Surely the 100 club just WAS crowd funding. Now they have  widely recognised platforms (kickstarter indiegogogogog etc) that could help them they pack up.

There are differences in approach for sure but i would have thought this is an opportunity missed

I see why they'd go the kickstarter/indiegogo route though.  More eyeballs on the proposed project and a better, faster chance of getting a up and running.
