Fantasy Shenanigans: some painted minis page 3...
« on: November 05, 2014, 10:28:20 PM »
I won this fellow on ebay a while ago and he has been kicking around the workbench for a while now. When he arrived his nose was pretty damaged and flattened like he'd been dropped on his face more than once. A session greenstuffing a new nose lead to a pretty extensive facelift! Been tinkering with him for a while since adding bits of putty here and there.

I didn't really like the weapon he came with so decided to make one from scratch. A plastic paintbrush seemed like a good general shape for a wooden club the perfect weapon for a giant for to bash things up with. It was pretty simple to then add a thin layer of greenstuff and add a bit of texture. Time to make some viking paste!!

The Old Boy looks much better after all your loving attention. His new expressive face is a WONDERFUL piece of sculpting. VERY WELL DONE!
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Thanks for the comments! I shortened the club a bit and added some putty to bulk out his back since he was a little narrow from the side. Have to stop tinkering now so just waiting on some 2mm plasticard for his base and he'll be on the painting table!!

Needing some willing heroes to take on that ugly giant I've been playing around with these foundry viking figures. Had fun changing some of the weapons. Added a bit of hair here and there and for some reason gave them all fat noses!! The girl viking was much too pretty. Now I think she looks like she could be handy in a scrap!!

That is quite an improvement; the Trio looks TERRIFIC with oodles of personality...GREAT WORK!
The Fellow on the right looks like he's just witness the messy end of the fourth Guy from the Giant photo..."Oh Odin, that must have hurt!"

I love the improvements that you make to already great figures.
 :-* 8) :-*

You have already inspired me to get to grips with my RT stuff soon.
I could really do without you distracting me into another genre with all this lark!

Some lovely conversion work there - nice greenstuffing, and great use of an old paintbrush!
