In my experience Nord, build it and they shall come. Just because it isn't getting mainstream love does not mean that there are not enthusiasts out there.

All the above having been said, there is still no reason for not doing a DL-themed blog.

We all like to see well painted minis after all.
 ;)

I agree - we'll glady gawk and dribble all over your stuff  if you share, and some might even consider getting into them.  ;)

That size minis is not for me, as I have plenty of 28mm, and 1:72/20mm, and recently bought a horde of 15mm Copplestone barbarians for a GoB15 project (and am planning to get some 10mm stuff for some large battle LotR), so only smaller scales for me, but I can appreciate nice minis in other scales/sizes just the same!  :)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

They do seem to release in fits and starts.

Quite, I´m sure they are getting better at it, but not so many years ago their releases would be so much so that one could only describe it as random. I think your right tough, its a smaller company, however this is easy to forget with the relative distance they are keeping. I'm not complaining, just observing.

Very nice I do like these figures but they are much to large for me to use with my collection.

Or maybe your collection is too small to use with these figures.

They are roughly the same height as a space marine, or at least the French guys are.

They don't fit with the Westwind, Warlord & Hasselfree figures. They are the size of the new space marines as in HUGE.

Westwind and Hasselfree are small, the latter more like tiny. That's why they don't fit. I don't like Warlord proportions, short and fat is not for me.

If you're coming in fresh then the size is irrelevant as long as you like the aesthetic. For those like me who've been gaming VSF since the 90's, it's no use as we have collections. I gave away my 25mm RAFM stuff long ago and I was always in the 28mm area anyway but the Dystopian Legions stuff towers over my Copplestone Naval Brigade which are regarded as big figures anyway. They're as big as GW terminators.

So many projects..... so little time.......

They are definitely bigger in height, though slimmer than average figures - in my eyes better proportioned. I'm not sure they are terminator sized, don't have any to hand. I do wonder if the Prussian hat is exaggerating the difference?

Two quick snaps of some WIP stuff, one from table level, one from a more natural gamer perspective. To me, at least, in these pics the French eyes are roughly on a level with the marine's forehead.

I completely understand why folks with other figures would not like them because of the size issue. Never thought I would see the day when the boast is "mine's smaller than yours".  lol

Its the price of them here that stops me getting them. THe height does not bother me or their slimness.

They're about £2.50 per miniature. Not sure how this is expensive compared to many other ranges.
westfaliaminiatures.com - proper stuff in 28mm

The starter set is even better value, around £2 per mini if you pick up the box for £80 - and it's cheaper than that in some stores. It also has a nice piece of terrain and the rules for that price. Good VFM if you ask me.

Just a little hard to mix with existing lines of miniatures. Then again - I am mostly in the realm of Napoleonics where mixing is a No Go, at least in the same unit.

With this in mind wouldn't I mind to use some larger 28mm in one force and the SL ones in another.

Too big  :( shame I like the sculpts, if I can't us them with my 28mm then I won't invest in them. I think they slipped up picking 32mm  :'(

Surely the exchange rate/postage affects all non-domestic minis? So the price inflation occurs with every figure you buy, 28mm, 30mm or 32mm or whatever.

The Australians take it on the chin when it comes to shipping.
