Warhammer 40k....Imperial fists

Found some pictures of my last 40k project I was working on My imperial fists.
I themed this army to be imperial fist expedition force following a rumour that a Imperial fist battlebarge as been
sighted near the eye of terror which was thought lost in the warp.  [Gives me a excuse to mix 40k and pre heresy
imperial fists together and being a Rogal dorn fan!!!
Ongoing project Ill add new pictures when I paint new things.

I have been up in my loft and found some forgeworld kits which was bought a couple of xmases ago
I have been busy building up and getting ready to paint up for my Imperial fists

Very nice! Got an IF army myself, nowadays themed for the post-Heresy years for the same reason - cool-looking toys and lots of conversions on my infantry without having to do terrible rounds of fluffification how it all survived into the 41st millennium.

I like the ochre tone of the vehicles. Helps a lot not to make them look like DHL delivery vans on steroids with issues.

Looks like finished elements of a WIP force to me.

I don't think there are enough troop choices for an army...

out of curiosity is that a finished small force or is this a WIP.

Its a  paint what I fancy and add to till of got an army project...
I started it a couple of yrs ago then fluttered onto another project...FOw but that's another story
Im just getting back into 40k again so will be painting more stuff soon

Indeed. That looks very impressive and truely epic. But what is that big rod stickin' out of the large spacecraft? I hope it is not supposed to be a canon? ;-)

I really like the desert look to the paint... much better than the bright yellow you see for Imperial Fist marines elsewhere

Thanks for all the comments guys you have encouraged me now to paint more
just to answer a couple of questions.
the paint scheme I chose to use: I wanted them to look like they have had a few battles and have become battle worn,bruised and rusty.
the Thunderhawk gunship is in fact made of modelling card and yes the big rod is a battle cannon
I have also got some painted  marines which I need to photograph and will post when I have done so.

I love this realistic approach to painting space marines. "Translating" bright yellow into a desert ochre tone is, simply, a genius idea. Much kudos to you!
