I made a ruined version of the Chapel. Great fun and very happy with it.
Usual low quality photos though...

Re: Neverending charge into 6mm - Update: French Foreign Legion Fort BUILD

I was lucky enough to have a commission from https://rapierminiatures.comRapier Miniatures for their new French Foreign Legion range, but generic enough to be suitable for a lot of genres
and periods.

The pieces needed were specified by Rapier, so I set to drawing out plans, cutting them out and having a play.

A resize and another play.

It's all starting to make sense.

So scribble up what everything is...

...and away we go.

I'm making this mainly from foamed PVC

One consideration I took into account was the use of based figures, there are lots of sizes, but I settled on being able to get two 60x30 bases to sit on each wall section, with a slight overhang.
The mini's in the pic are Rapier Indian Archers, on a 1mm base with a .75mm magnet underneath, so short for the average base height.

Not so much on the breach

Onto the towers

There are two types of tower

The corner ones.

The inline ones

I need some steps

I'm making one set to fit all my needs

And casting some up

To the battlements, or castellations or crenulations! Take your pick.

Again made one, cast those and hacked them for the towers, started adding texture.

Some Microworld Games Peasant Rabble, a cast of the straight wall and a barrack block which is then attached.

Same with a stable block

"I can see my house from here."

Happy with those

Once more unto... etc

Need a gate of course, these will be cast in metal I believe.

Finally Casts!

There are a couple of additional pieces which I haven't photographed yet, namely a watch tower and a well. Rapier are releasing this soon, and there will be a limited number available at http://www.joysofsix.co.uk/ on the 3rd of July

That looks brilliant! Seems like it will be very versatile, too. Thanks for showing the construction process.

Thanks folks. Versatile is what I wanted as FFL aren't of interest to me, but all kinds of nonsense across the Middle East and Hindu Kush is...  8)

Rather than spend absolutely ages uploading a ton of "how-I-done-made-this" photos, and I have them believe me, I thought I'd cut to the chase with this recently finished 6mm Medieval Village project and just post eye candy.  lol

I can confirm that he does.

I've said it elsewhere but this is a superbly charming little village scene mate.
