Fantastic work, I hope your break from painting isn't to long and we get to see some more of your outstanding painting very soon.

And on we go! This time with a Kradschützen sqad:

Miniatures are Warlord Games and were a real pain in the back to stick together. Initially I planned on making 2-3 squads worth of Kradschützen but no way for me to do this with such poorly fitting models. I prefer to wait for someone doing Kradschützen in plastic... so probably for ever  :?

Stunning  :o :o :o :o :o

Would you mind giving me a list of the paints you used on the uniforms and the motorcycles?  I'm hoping to paint one up myself and would like to use your work as a guide.  Either here or on your blog would be fine as I have you on my blogroll.

And on we go! This time we have the 'kurzer 8cm Granatwerfer 34', again from Warlord Games. In my opinion they've messed up the kit by using the 'kurze' (short) version (used from 1941 onwards) instead of the 'lange' and labelling it 'Blitzkrieg'.

More pics and some facts about the mortar (taken mostly from Wikipedia so nothing new here) over on my Blog.

A fantastic collection and I can't believe I've only noticed it today.  :)

@Bruce:
Sorry, can't give you an actual reference but I've seen several photos of BEF soldiers with that camo in a magazine here in Grmany. One of it was of a unit which mascot were some capuchin monkeys or the like.

I'm pretty sure the unit is 3rd British Air Mission (later GHQ Liaison Regiment), otherwise known as 'Phantom'. They were a special reconnaissance unit tasked with informing GHQ where friendly forces were located at any given time, so that the RAF did not bomb them in error.

UK forces were ordered not to wear divisional flashes on battledress originally, but they began to creep in as time went by... the 'P' was this units and was also seen on their vehicles. I believe it was originally red on black, but changed to white on black later.

Their later organisation can be found here: http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/23767-ghq-liaison-regiment-phantom/
but I have no idea for 1940. There is mention of 'armoured car units' (probably 'Dingos') and 'motorcycle units' in 1940 and the unit was originally 15 officers and 110 other ranks.

Major David Niven commanded A Squadron when it was reformed after Dunkirk and is shown here with the Duke of Kent.

Only just caught on to this gorgeous project.
Wonderful painting added to some some seriously clever basing for a truly stunning combination!

Stunning work!

Have you considered Black Tree for more motorcycles, or Foundry? I think I had all three at one point, and Foundry were by far and away the best. Perry sculpts of course.

The Foundry ones look great esp for EW but I have not seen them in the flesh so have not had to put them together. The Black Tree ones I have and they go together quite nicely and I picked them up on 40% off sale

The Foundry are terrific. You won't be disappointed.
