I can't really decide if I like the moon sign or the wood more. They are both stunning, and the idea itself is brilliant.

beautiful work. The flooring looks amazing online (in the flesh I imagine it's even better), the whole thing's going to be a great backdrop for the miniatures.

I'm so glad I didn't see this thread when it was first started because I got to see it painted straight away once I opened the thread instead of waiting in anticipation. This is great work! I really love the little splatters of different colours on the floor, they all have their own little story to tell. The sculpting is great. How big is the sign?

Not only is this a fantastic concept, but the execution is brilliant! That floor is so grimy that I'm sure someone's bound to fall through it at some point.

This is so cool. I need to figure out how you do your washes over contrasting prime coat technique. That could save me a lot of time when painting terrain in the future.

Just had another look  :-*. You seriously need to share the recipe for that wooden floor!

Thanx for the nice comments, they are much appreciated indeed!

I hope I can find the time to post some more during next week.
There really is no recipe for that technique - I made  it up as I went along. Just some washes with 'Vallejo Wash' (mainly sepia and woodgrain)over the primed floor, then some drybrushing. After everything was dry, I sprayed the whole floor with distilled water and dripped some colors here and there. Done.

Do you find that distilled water makes much of a difference?

Much. The water here is full of lime. Distilled water lets the colours  flow much better.

I thought that might be the case  :)

I think I shall be purchasing some in the not so distant future.

Very atmospheric, that floor.  Are you going to give a good spray later with beer to get the scent down too or would that be a waste of beer?
