It seeks to be based on box size rather than weight? So campaign boxes and the larger vehicles really punch up the postage- if you are just buying infantry it doesn't seem to be too high. Of course all I want are the big things  ;D

Yep. I wish I could ask them to just inbox everything and send it in as small a package as possible. Packaging is a needless waste of space and resources.

Other countries shipping is a problem. Not like they are jacking up shipping prices. And customs isn't much we can do about.
I calculated out 3x KV-47 walkers. $12 shipping. Seemed reasonable for said items to be shipped. But again, i am in the States.

FFS. Seriously? I was about to dump a some cash there, but yeah, screw those shipping costs. I've bought Dust Tactics huts recently and was a bit bemused by the size of the box, so maybe that's one of the factors for those charges (as in the packaging was three times the size of the actual product). Eugh, that's really annoying. I suspect even if I had an American buy the items then ship them to me the price would still be horrible, even with smaller packaging. Hmn, given the amount of money to be saved though maybe it could work. =/

I bought $56 worth of stuff that was basically an entire army including for infantry units, three helicopters and an oversize tank. Shipping to the US was $18. That seems reasonable to me considering the box will be huge.

$21 of stuff, $26 in shipping (all three hero packs & Operation Zverograd). I thought about it and asked myself if I would buy the same if it was $31 with $16 shipping and I figured, yeah I would. I'm in Canada though, so no help to the Aussies.

BUT, this might be of use to anyone in Oz: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=72779.0

Not sure if this service will be available in time for the sale, but since this is a holiday sale, I would guess there's a little time yet?

I think the issue is the box size and although being able to use a mail forwarder is a good idea. I don't think FFG are gouging people with shipping costs. As Wyrmalla said, they would need to be unboxed as you have to pay for the mail to go to the forwarding system, then pay a fee for them processing it and then pay the postage on top which (for me in NZ) is charged at the regular rate if not a bit lower. :) May be wrong though (happends more often than not  lol)

Oh Christ, now I know why shipping was so expensive - they send everything by UPS!

A $21 purchase and now I'm wondering how badly customs will screw me. I will holler blue murder at FFG if UPS sticks me with a brokerage or processing fee, as they loooove to do with Canadian international deliveries.

Better not get brokerage fees!  Why do some places insist on using bloody ups?

$4 for the quonsa hut pack...... $32 shipping to UK...... There is no way that can be called reasonable, regardless of the initial product price.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Looks like I am going to be hit with a $14.37 brokerage charge as well (worst. sale. ever.), of course this not being mentioned in any way at the time of the sale. The funny part is that they claiming that the international holiday sale orders said to "Be sure to read the international FAQ" which supposedly warns you you'll be liable for all customs and brokerage such. But I sure don't remember anything like that and now when you check the site it doesn't show that warning at all.

Anyway, I called them directly and the only thing they offered was to let me refuse the UPS shipment, then they would send me a replacement order via USPS but charge me for the USPS postage. That's $9, which is less than the brokerage fees so sure. Also, apparently returning orders are destroyed rather than being returned to stock, so I guess that costs them extra in a roundabout way if you think that counts for anything. It sure doesn't recover anything for me.

$5 is $5 I guess. At least it is until you take the exchange rate into account. Ugh! So my "$21" order will have cost me $65 Canadian all told. Christ, I could have bought these at the local game store for that.
