Lion Rampant AAR
« on: November 21, 2014, 10:45:52 AM »

I set up a game of Lion Rampant at the club for my friends Pål, Mattias and Jocke, the last two running the exellent Northern wargaming blog.

We run the "Sausages with Mustard" scenario from the book as that work fine for the historical Raid on Penningby 1466, that was a Raid by the Union friendly Swedish Archbishop Jöns Bengtsson from the House of Oxenstierna and his troops.

The Raid was as a first strik against Nils Bosson Sture from the House of Natt och Dag that was a allied to the deposed Swedish King Karl Knutsson from the House of Bonde, this was also the start of a 2 year civil war and rebellion against the Archbishop of Sweden.

You can see more pictures from the game at my blog

Glad you liked it !

Most Perry minis indeed, some of the plastics I mixed perry and Gripping Beast Dark age warriors.

One of the House, the grey to the right in the top picture are a Pegasus house that I re done the roof angle and also gave a new roof, filling up some of the windows to...some pictures here

Thank you for the information Dalauppror.
Try to mix some of the fireforge foot sergeants.
They are also very versatile and you can make some interesting combinations.
Those pegasus houses are excelent to combine to several periods. I use mine for AWI, FIW and medieval.
The way you converted the roofs is great.

Nice... :D
Looking forward to see a feedback on them mixed with perry arms and weapons for i think they are compatible and it gives some interesting HYW or WOTR figures.

Hi

As you might see in my picture all the bow and bill arms are from the perry box but the bodys are Fire Forge and Gripping beast. The bows was no problem, but to  get the bill arms in place I had to cut away som mm of the shoulders of the mini, sins it is plastic it was no problem at all and in the end it looked good. The heads are harder to swich but with some cutting or green stuff that work to:)

Best regards Michael

I used it for a participation game a ran last Saturday. As victory generally depends on choice of boasts, I think it's a great introduction to the rules.

Three wins for the attackers against two for the defenders, and only one player out of the ten who wasn't up for playing the rules again  :)
