Interesting. Hopefully the final sculpts will lose the wooden look. One thing about a lot of CG 'sculpts' that ruins it for me.

They do look a bit wooden but when you see the films that these are inspired by the basic troops look wooden anyway.

It might be the characters that get all the attention  ???

Very nice drawings, if they get close to these in plastic I would be a happy man.  The poses work for me but the bows are awful.

I'm assuming the bows and crossbows are unfinished as they are very simple shapes currently.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Given that they are based off the Terracotta Warriors, I would say they look less wooden and more petrified. But I know what you mean about CG sculpts. However, given the "range" of models for that period, so long as they don't come out looking like big headed dwarves (you know the range I mean), I'll be happy.

Hello everyone. I appreciate the comments and kind words. We are hoping to make some improvements on the miniatures before they get cast but I wanted to let everyone know about our project. Our first range we wanted to give the appearance of the 'army on the march' hence the more static look. We are working on some other miniatures at the moment that will be more dynamic and moving forward there is nothing stopping us from having a range of soldiers that are in more 'fighting' poses. Sky is the limit but we needed to start somewhere. We have utilized as much as we could from historical references including the terracotta soldiers and musuem pieces. We filled in the blanks by using Hollywood as our muse, which is always a dangerous thing. We should have more information coming soon so keep an eye out on this space and be sure to like our Watchful I Studio page on Facebook.  Thanks again for the interest.

Joe

Hello everyone. We have our second update ready for viewing. We recently completed our Warring States / Qin Dynasty general with some variant heads and arm options. If this is a time period you are interested in and like what you see so far would you be more interested in buying the general in resin or metal?

Here is the link below of our Facebook company page so you can check out the pics.  Thanks and as we complete more work we plan on posting until our Kickstarter launch date (Monday, March 23rd at 12pm EST)

Thanks,

Joe
