Wild west zombies figures
« on: September 07, 2008, 01:22:50 AM »
Does anyone make them?  I was going to do modern zombies and then realised I had the cowboys and the scenery, and...................

Foundry sell a pack of 7 zombie gunfighters. Jeff valent has the Deadlands ones but they are very large. I think it is Hawgleg that just released a pack of them too.

I am painting sme Wierd west types from Wyrd which would work for Deadlands. I have also converted some Perry ACW as zombie Rebs ;D

Why do all the Wild West ones have guns though? no other zombie range has weaponry, that is the whole point, they are mindless, looking for prey.........

Yes, I found some Zombies in their Gothic Horror range: Zombies.  I suppose with addition of some Foundry and GW Zombies this would give a largish collection.........

Some of the Wyrd ones are large some not.

I think the use of guns revolves around the Deadlands game as they can use weapons in that fluff

you could just cut up some wild west figure. for example, take a gunfighter firring a pistol, cut his hand and make it flop at the end, then take some green stuff and remodel his legs to make him look like he needs a wee (a zombie pose i don't think we see enough of personally) than take some more and just model small rips in his skin etc, and voila a ZED.
just a thought

There's a set of Deadlands zombies without weapons too. One of them has a gravestone held over his head to bash in a hero's head. They're also better scaled.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Black Scorpion have some nice undead cowboys, but they are more skeleton than zombie:

I've backed their Kickstarter when they released a while back and the casts are really good. Also you can't go wrong with skeletons wearing big coats and holding six shooters :D

Somehow its fitting that a zombie thread that's nearly 16 years old was resurrected...

...I wonder if Joroas finished his project  ;)

For deadlands at least, their unquiet dead are not nearly as stupid as people expect, more than happy to shamble along all stupid before pulling a fast one on you with a pair or revolvers.
