It looks like it was a real hoot to paint! The base is fantastic, too.

+1  :-* :-*

one of the best snowy bases I've seen

I’m painting monks at the moment for a scenario to be played by the end of January. I know they are neither old lead nor fantasy, but since this thread is where I put my pics on the forum I thought it might work anyhow. And they are certainly to be used in a fantasy setting! I have been collecting monks for some time and the selection you see here comes from Gripping Beast, Foundry and Black Tree. The paintjob was fairly basic and nothing too flashy, but fun to do. Any thoughts?
Cheers

Now there's a feisty group of Friars; they're not going to be easy pickings for some wandering Vikings to slaughter...kind of. COOL minis AND GREAT brushwork & basing! TERRIFIC WORK!

Lovely Martin. :-* :-*

They are sure ready to tell and marauders where to stick "it". (I think that's what the 2nd guy is saying, the 3rd looks like he's yelling them to go back where they came from)

Cheers
Matt.

Excellent paint job on that owl! And those monks are looking great too. I'm looking forward to seeing more from that scenario!

Lovely work on those monks.
All you need now is a crew of marauding vikings to slaughter them.

A fine selection, especially the disreputable-looking one on the left.

Excellent work on the robes of those monks!  A hard color to get a smooth transition on?

Thanks. In principle the transitions were fairly easy to do but it took a whole lot of layers and was thus rather time consuming.

Cheers
