Random Thought - Puppet Master

I was watching Puppet Master the other night, for those who haven't seen it its about puppets inexplicably armed with knives, leeches and drills that go on a killing spree in a hotel. I thought about WWW2 because at the beginning we see the puppet maker in the hotel in the late 1930s who knows that nazi agents are after him because he has an ancient Egyptian formula for giving life to inanimate objects. He hides his puppets and the formula and commits suicide before the nazis get him, but what if he didnt die and/or the nazis get hold of the formula? I know that the whole reanimation zombie thing is well covered, but I did think that there could be room for puppets in assassination or spying scenarios. Anyway, just a random thought.

Wasn't Puppet Master 3 the origin movie?  I think it was set entirely in WWII Poland where the puppets are created and fight the Nazis after they kill or hurt their creator.

It's been awhile and most of the 80s are a blur during my punk phase.

I've only seen the first two and the Puppet Master dies pre-war, but horror serials are not known for their continuity. I liked the idea and just thought I'd put it out there.
