I guess their 28mm I wonder how they compare to other ranges.  I remember I almsot ordered a whole batch of pulp mobsters from a company once only to find they were 25mm.  Which is great if your wargaming in the Land of OZ.

Can anybody vouch for their size comparison?

Not sure... the Honourable Lead Boiler Suit Company makes VERY nice stuff - some of the RLBP animals are a little odd, anatomically...

I really like those Nile Crocodiles, though... I've wanted some partially submerged ones for a while - thanks for the link!
Check out THE CROGAN ADVENTURES, a historical adventure graphic novel series available from your local bookstore or comic shop (or, of course, Amazon).  I make 'em.

Ral Partha do submerged hippos:

https://www.connectstores.com/ralpartha/sp_27241.html

Their minis fit well with 'regular' 28mm stuff. As do the HLBS sculpts - all good stuff!

Ah, yes! Thanks! I'd forgotten about Ral Partha.
There's a lot of nice stuff on that page... I have to stock up on African wildlife soon... and I also need some lesser dinos...

What's the 'real' difference between 'Raptors' and 'Velociraptors'? (Isee the difference in the sculpts, but I thought 'Raptors' was a common name for some different species?)

I always took it to mean that Velociraptors were a subspecies, smaller and faster (hence "veloci-") than the others.

I could be wrong as I get most of my scientific and historical information from comic books.

"Velociraptor"* is a genus of dinosaur, though only vaguely resembling the things given that name in Jurassic Park.

"Raptor" isn't a scientific classification, just a name people use for certain groups of dinosaurs and birds of prey.

Exactly what I thought - It was just the use of the word for some Ral Partha dinos that confused me (they look a bit like the second version of the GW Cold Ones) - they're not named other than that on the webside.
