1938 Grand Prix racing cars
« on: December 17, 2014, 10:48:56 PM »

Glad to let you know our latest release before Christmas - the first set of a hopefully successful new range, one devoted to 1930s racing cars, that we expect to make at 1/72 and 1/100 scales altogether.

As it can be seen on the picture above, this first set includes 3 different racing cars in a box: Mercedes Benz W154, Auto Union type D and Alfa Romeo c12/312. Each of them consists on a single part resin hull, two white metal shafts, four resin wheels and a white metal driver masterly sculpted by Xan Miniatures for us. Besides, the set is completed by a decals sheet with number serials in white, black, blue and red.

This new set of Racing Cars is fully available right now at our website.

Any plans to do them in 28mm?  AND, at least, one more?
They would be sooooo nice along side my Pulp Alley figures.

Love the cars guys - are these available individually?

As an Alfa owner and club member I'd love to have the 312 on its own.

Some quick answers:

- The 1/100 version of these cars is already made and awaiting a deadline, as well as their decals sheet too. We're just waiting for the pilots to be cast and boxes to be designed.

- As for a 1/56 version, I'm pretty doubtful due to high production costs, that might make them unaffordable to many users. We must find out a solution for making them less expensive.

- Future developments: to be honest, it highly depends on the success rate of this one starting set. Please note that, for caution, we've entitled it as "Racing Cars I", so forecasting such an eventual "II" to follow on demand. I've started collecting pictures and blueprints of other racing cars of that period, such as 1934 Bugatti 59-1, 1938 Alfa Romeo 316 and 158 or 1939 Maserati 8ctf (no ERAs found so far, sorry!) - but some of these are rather crude. Please any decent blueprints you might have would be warmly welcome!!!

- Single cars: sure, we'll start soon selling them by the unit too, as well as separate decals sheets.

(BTW, I do love Alfas too - I had a 355 for a number of years, and still miss it now!)

Still want the Chevy truck, & that Bookmobile, in 1/56!!

& I want 28mm Republican Militiawomen most of all!!

Why aren't there severe penalties for producing figures I want in a scale I cannot use that won't mix with those I already have?

We were really impressed with the Minairons 1/56 Hispano Suiza MC-36 - http://www.minairons.eu/en/1-56-scale-vehicles-spanish-civil-war/181-1-56-hispano-suiza-mc-36-boxed-kit-8436545320167.html

It would be great to see these race cars done in 1/56 scale as well.

Good luck!
