Germans and French for a WWI Verdun project (update: 28/12)
« on: December 28, 2014, 02:05:24 PM »
Back in November I purchased a few blisters of the Great War Miniatures later Germans from Northstar for a nascent Verdun 1916 project.

I've now got the first dozen test models done and am quite happy with the grimy look that I have got.

I'm looking forwards to finishing my platoon and using them with the new WWI modifications for Chain of Command published in the latest Christmas special from TFL

They look great. Nicely desaturated. Like they've stepped out of a photo of the period...

Just had to get the rules as i've been thinking for ages that a ww1 chain of command would be brilliant, might make a start on some Frenchmen.

Nice - I like the colour palette choice too.

Those Germans look great!

I'm seriously considering a German mid/late war platoon as my first miniature purchase of 2015; I want to be able to use my White Russians as pre-Revolution Imperial Russians and run the many shiny new scenarios in Chris C's Empire to Revolution book.

Also excited to see other people are going to be trying out the TFL CoC/M&B WW1 rules - I've liked the sound of CoC since it was released but have basically zero interest in WW2, so the new WW1 rules are exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks chaps.

Yesterday evening James and I had another chat about using the Chain of Command modifications for WWI and we are quite keen to make a start.

Well, slow going for 2015, but another dozen have been added to the force.

I've been slowly working my way through the Great War Miniatures WWI Germans I picked up from Northstar and the have added another dozen since the start of the year.

I've updated the blog with more images and details of the paint scheme I used: Scrivsland

Nice stuff. And thanks for sharing the colours, as I want to brighten up my lot (they look too dark).
