In Her Majesty's Name...multiplayer?

Is IHMN only for player vs. player or can it be played by more than that at a time, as in multiple factions, etc.? Has anyone played with more than two players and if so, how did it work out?

It plays quiet well actually each side rolls initiative and activate in order :)

It does slow down a bit but as long as objectives are used it works well :)

There are several AAR here that have more than one players side :-*

We played with 6 players yesterday! It's was a chaotic mess and a ton of fun. It's a good, fun social time

I ran a multiplayer campaign last year, but found that it slows down to a crawl. Especially in the early stages when people are just moving to contact the figure-by-figure alternation is akin to molasses flowing uphill.

You could let an entire side move all its figures at once, but that breaks down when anyone gets to melee range. And players are generally very unwiling to relinquish any perceived advantage to their opponents (in a game like IHMN you generally want to move last).

We much prefer the multiplayer game. More scope for skullduggery!

We regularly play games at the Club with 5 or 6 players and they produce an enjoyable evening of chaos. Plenty of skulduggery as players try to exploit the situations to their advantage.
To speed things up we allow players to move or activate 2 figures at a time with close combats worked through singly in initiative order with each close combat completed before moving on.
Rather than dice for initiative we draw chits and a Company must move, shoot or fight when it's chit comes out. To add to the chaos we draw chits at the start of each movement, shooting and combat phase, so there is no guarantee that if you move first you will also get to shoot or fight first.
Having clear objectives for each Company which ties in with the overall campaign thread also helps ensure that games are brought to a conclusion in a reasonable time.
