I keep thinking I want to try that, but I hate removing integral bases :(

I'm mainly concerned about figures that don't have much contact surface with the ground and/or rely on their integral bases (or slottabase tabs) for balance. Sooner or later a tip-toeing rogue or a big cat lunging forward with its forelegs off the ground would show up on my workbench, glaring at me accusingly with a "Well now what?!" look on its face :)

Yes, some of those can be a bit tough to remove. This is actually why we decided to use slotted tabs for our own Pulp Alley miniatures - because it is so easy to snip them off.  ;)

I run in to this once in awhile. I just rebased a dozen african natives and most were standing on one foot.  :o
I always file the contact points and make sure I have bare metal touching the base. This make the bond really strong.
But you're definitely right, balance can sometimes be an issue.

I'll be the first to say that these bases are not for everyone, but I really like them. If we didn't change settings so ofetn, then I don't think it would have ever mattered.  lol

If you're using the thicker bases, don't forget that you can pin the figure to the base as well. I do this sometimes for the figures on one foot with even regular penny bases.

Nice pterosaurs. I'll have to get some for the Lost World game that I've got in the pipeline. I've got 2 of the Copplestone ones but didn't notice until I tried assembling them, that one has got 2 left wings! These look a btter bet for me actually getting around to finishing them.

Very nice painting - are you using some pre-fomulated series of colours for the various shades, or do you mix along the way?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Where did that not-Securitron come from, Dave?

Dad made that miniature himself. But he is working on a newer version that we may actually release.... eventually.  ;)
