You're not the first Jeff, and certainly won't be the last.   :)

I'm guilty of the same fault myself hence the comment above.

Ditto! And yes, I also trained with the SMLE!

Hi all, just an update on how the Paras are going. I've done another 9 and this time some of them are wearing the famous red(maroon) beret and others have both British sten guns and a captured German SMG. I couldn't find a colour for the beret straight out of the pot that suited me so I mixed my own and I think I got the right shade.
Anyway here are some photos of them and this time I've included a rear shot of some of them to show their equipment and a war gamers view of them as well.

Jeff, do you know a bit about the legend of the Red Beret? Some say 'Boy' Browning had some of his blokes march past his missus in different coloured berets. When the bloke in the maroon one went by she said...

"That one looks absolutely spiffing darling."

And a leg-endary titfer was born!

No Harry I didn't know that but it sounds very convincing and typical of the way legends are created lol.

The colour is spot on.If you add orange to your final highlight on the edges(only the smallest of highlights) and shade with a dark navy/purple mix, around the badge your beret colour will really pop.Its just the odd way they wear once they've been out and about a bit in all weather's.
It's the way I find sit's best, with me.Its one of those little detail's that nag at me with my own painting. That said I do like the clean natural feel your figures have Jeff.
If you wish Jeff,I could post a single image of how I tackle them.As we seem to have made very similar colour choice's.
Mark.
