Nearly $100AUD for book plus shipping. I wouldn't pay more than $80 in a shop, so I'll wait.

The Knight Models stuff truly looks amazing and I nearly ordered a pile of stuff yesterday. I'm waffling however, as I have supers rules already, and my repainted Heroclix generally turn out quite well. GAH more shiny or save my money and play with the free rules, or rules I already know how to use...so difficult to decide!

I'd really like that Red Hood mini, but I know the shipping costs for Canada will probably hurt...

Meeplemart out of Toronto has it for pre-order. That should save on some shipping. If you're in the area they will even hold it for pick up.

Does anyone know how different the book will be from the download available at this time?

Very true, but the exclusive Joker book and Red Hood mini are only available from Knight Models directly. I didn't pay any shipping on my order (it was over 150 Euros), but that 21% VAT killed me. I won't be ordering from KM directly again...it just costs too much.

I will be looking for in-Canada alternatives if I buy more models in the future.

Beasts of War showed off some updated pages, and KM posted somewhere (I think it was on their official forums) that they had hired a native English speaker to re-write the rules. I also hope that it's better than the free download...especially since my copy cost me like $80.

Knight Models posted on the forums that they have the books in hand and will begin shipping soon. I'm looking forward to mine!

Sounds like a lot of folks in the UK have already started receiving their books. I expect mine to take another week or couple of weeks to arrive here in western Canada. I'm not complaining, just impatient! :D

Heroclix Minis are pickled turds compared to the Knight Models range - even when painted well, they dont look as good.

As far as I know (I run the Arkham City Limits - the Official Batman Miniatures Game Facebook Group) the books have reached as far as France, so the UK next!!

I'd say that's all subjective, and the OP's opinion is just as valid as yours.  Many times it's a cost vs effect equation.

Having stripped endless Heroclix in the past, done repaints etc etc - I totally disagree.

Im not talking price point to model cost (which as you know can go off the scale with rarer clix) I'm talking actual quality and style of sculpt.

Your own range (for example) is a million times better than any hero clix - period.
