HUGE ACW game
« on: January 18, 2015, 12:05:34 AM »
on January 16th, we played a big game of Black Powder at my local wargames club BOD in Utrecht the Netherlands. We had about 12 players and around 20 brigades between us. At the end of the night, Several Union brigades were shattered and only one Confederate brigade broke. Combined with the fact that 1 Confederate brigade managed to take his objective, we declared it a minor Confederate victory. Here is a selection of some pictures of the game:

A stirring spectacle indeed. This size of game is when you get a proper feel for BP.

Thanks Al! the green Teddy fur didn't turn out as nice as yours so I will have to give it another soak in water and green paint in the future.

The corn is from JTT Scenery and I got it through Ebay. Make sure to get the 2" variant for 28mm scale. here is the link:

I made mdf strips and drilled holes for the corn stalks. Simply glue them in place with some super glue and finish the bases. I decided on strips in stead of larger pieces because you won't have to take away a lot when troops enter the cornfield. Makes it look more realistic imho. Here are some close ups:
