Hello from Ireland
« on: January 19, 2015, 07:48:01 PM »
Hi Folks,

checking in for the first time, have been lurking for a while - my name is Bernd, I am a German, living in Ireland, could be regraded as an "Old Fart", and would describe myself as a "lapsed adventurer". Who finally realized that those lumps of metal (and plastic) won't paint (much less assemble and base) themselves. So ... planning to restart the hobby.

Have been a fan of 28mm since buying a Hinchliffe Polish Winged Hussar in Paignton in 1979, and bought an eclectic mix of stuff before the Celtic Tiger croaked (and jobs went). Now sorting through it, planning to get rid of some, maybe as swaps.

Main interests are figures, not rules - and periods/themes close to my heart are the scramble for Africa, samurai, Chinese legends, Celts, Pirates, with Victorian "pulp" thrown in (even wrote my master's thesis on Sherlock Holmes all those years ago).

That's about it for now, will try to find my feet here first ...

Regards,
Bernd
