Terminator hangout with Alessio Cavatore
« on: January 21, 2015, 10:56:25 PM »
Hi Guys...help needed

I missed out on the Live event on Beasts of war website. Now I and many others have found out it was a live only Event. Meaning that FOX wanted to only show it "Live" because of imagery ?

Well that`s a bugger 99% of the gaming world missed out on that one... and what did we miss..?

Who saw it and can report on what was said... unless somebody copied it off Youtube by any chance...?

Private me.. wink wink...

Bloody Film IP...!!!!!
Thanks All

Well that was well publicised. Didn't even know it was happening. Only showing it once seems stupid.

Oh that stinks. I was hoping to catch it after the fact. I mean, it's not like I can watch a live stream while I am at work. What a disappointment.

A guy on Dakka said:

Quote
The boxed starter game will be 10 terminators versus 16 humans plus human hero.

Models are hard plastic, done by renedra, they only showed the terminators, they look a little static but were decent quality.

Heroes for both sides will likely be resin.

Besides the starter box, there will be hero clampacks and boxed additional plastic forces, with larger models such as vehicles coming later.

The game used poly dice, d4, 8, 12 and 20's, plus another dice he called a 'fate dice' (custom D6) to determine activation order. He designed bolt Action so think of a variation on that sort of turn mechanism.

Game will be out to coincide with the movie release which is july.

and then when asked about the terminators:

Quote
T800's, with a choice of weapons

The T1000 will be one of the skynet hero characters, and he expects to add the larger skynet constructs as it progresses, as well as humvees and other vehicles for the humans.

Oh, and there is a time travel mechanism in the game too.

Check this:

Maybe the coolest thing is it WON'T be a Kickstarter game (gasp...shock...EEK!).

Well now... :o

That slipped well beneath the radar. I'm certainly interested to see the minis, especially the plastic termies and the later vehicles.

If only there was a way of going back in time and see it in person!

Crap, and just when I decided to focus on fewer games, this pops up... o_o

For now I'll just wait and see how it will all turn out. :)

Not sure if these pictures have already been posted but pictures of the plastic terminators, upcoming plastic resistance fighters and Kyle Reese along with some pictures of the cardboard markers/ terrain and gaming mat can be found on my blog along with some more information about the sculptors involved. http://wargameterrain.blogspot.be/2015/02/river-horse-games-upcoming-terminator.html Here are some teaser pictures.

Humans look good but the terminators look a bit wooden with almost a monopose look with the two handed minigun thing. They do look like they'll fit with the em-4 Copplestone minis nicely. Why put a lone torso on every sprue? You'll end up with loads.

Cardboard terrain seems a waste of time in this day and age.

Thanks for posting that.

They posted the video for on-demand viewing over the weekend. The separate torsos are actually 'crawlers' in the game. If you don't do enough damage to the terminator to blow it up, sounds like it'll turn into a crawler.

I'm not impressed with the Kyle Reese sculpt shown, but I'm hopeful for the game and getting some Terminator characters. I can see any reason I won't buy at least the starter box.

Terminator models are extremely average. I think they could've done a lot better. In this day and age mediocre models are a deal killer.  I suspect that they are hoping the license will carry the mediocre execution.   It's just like so many licensed video games that they think will sell despite being lackluster.
