Words fail me to describe the quality of your work on this train.  Would you please consent to showing us more views (with the flash) to reveal the extent of the really excellent weathering you have done?  I have a Dixon 28mm scale (converted to S scale track with refit of model RR wheel trucks) locomotive and train cars that I would like to re-paint like these now that I have seen them.

Please provide a little more information on the scale of the train and track you are using for 28mm scale games.  I know only a little about the convergence of wargame scales and model railroad scales.  So if you can offer it, I would appreciate a little help on the subject.  "Itīs 0n30 1/48th scale on H0 (1/87) gauge tracks. Narrow gauge models that appear standard gauge sized for 28mm gaming purposes. "

This image on LAF shows the Dixon train I have constructed in use.  Please forgive my elementary level of weathering on this project.  Your work has inspired me to do another, better paint job on my train.

I guess LAF has already provided the explanation of scale I seek.  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=75095.0
But anything you care to add will be welcome.  Thanks!

Fantastic weathering, I have a similar loco and carriages but have hesitated about weathering, maybe I should have a go.

The lack of proper scale standard gauge models made me choose 0n30 narrow gauge for substitutes. Their overall measurements of those 1/48th scale models exacts that of the 1/64th scale standard gauge prototypes. Many of the Bachmann narrow gauge equipment does look like the bigger standard gauge counterparts.
In my opinion S scale (1/64) of 22mm gauge is the perfect match for 28mm wargaming, although availability of it is close to zero in Europe. I was lucky to get a train, but had to re-gauge it to H0 tracks due to availability of tracks too. However this is what it looks like:

Scale comparison shot with a heroic 28mm miniature and a truck in 1/64th scale and another with a Bachmann 0n30 1/48th scale steam engine. This photo illustrates how well both scales go together on a gaming table if the narrow gauge Bachmann trains are used as substitutes for standard gauge prototypes. Now the diesel freight train is a narrow gauge one that never existed in reality however.

Regretfully I can not take any more photos of the Mogul steam engine, because it was a commission that has already been sent to the owner. But I have some of my own as well that you can see here:
