We had an all day game at the usual BLAM location on the Sunday, set on Mars with a cast of literally hundreds (well, about 170-180)
A renegade Martian Prince was being taken on a troop review of the Japanese forces stationed outside New Victoria but unfortunately word got to the closest Sky Martian Clans who wanted a souvenir...
A blurry view of the table set up with New Victoria at the bottom and the Japanese encampment just of centre near the top
A train moves along the Albert viaduct
The Japanese encampment
Martians!!! Attacking from three sides the Martians make straight for the Prince.
Meanwhile in New Victoria the British look on in ................ (fill the blank as none of knew what they were doing
)
The fighting around the camp gets viscous as Sky Martians para send from their skiffs
Stout chaps those Japanese, not even turning round to face the enemy without getting the order
Martians board the train only to find it empty with only one crew aboard (who was quickly dispatched). The crewman falls on the controls sending the train steaming ahead to New Victoria station...
The Japanese make a brave stand but is it too late for the navy to save them?
Yes, it was but the navy displayed some superb flying skills... (avoiding not getting buried in a cliff face was considered superb
)
The British finally come out to see what all the fuss is about and stroll up next to a Martian trade delegation and have some tiffin.
An overall view of the action so far
What are those Aak Naks doing cowering behind the wall
The trains boiler blows up in spectacular fashion (this picture of course was taken just before the event..) and when the steam clears some Aak Naks try to tip the train onto the Sky Martians below...
With hilarious results (it fell back on them almost wiping them all out
)
The fighting continues however with the Prince and most of the Japanese getting butchered
Blast those sneaky Martians!
The Martian trade delegation decide to go for an amble in the canal...
With the Prince massacred along with the Japanese, the British finally taking an interest and with skiffs falling out of the sky from the navy's 'warning shots' the remaining Sky Martians beat a hasty retreat to their enclaves deep in the desert...
Much fun was had, many thanks to those who showed up and thanks to Mark for GMing and allowing me to play (first time I've played on the full set up
).
cheers
James
