 - great service from Photobucket !

As I was saying the cladding to the volcano was finished on Thursday night

Followed by a quick 30 minutes in the shed mixing filler (with a dash of black acrylic paint) for a good coat over the bare area on my mountain.

I have left a space...but I wonder what for...

How are you going to make it smoke?

....With a packet of twenty and a lighter  ;D

Seriously I haven't given this much thought yet...open to ideas

How about just teasing out some cotton wool.....

...fair enough, this is tiny in comparison, but the idea should work the same.
 ;)

Looks fab already  8)

Curious to see how you will do the lava flow… colored silicone or water effects?

Oh, and that cotton could work nicely, for fire part just add one of those flickering fire type of electric candles?

Sorry to disappoint but no lava flow, for the purposes of this build it will have a lava pool in the crater but no eruption.

I need to make sure this becomes a playable piece post build...

hopefully more tomorrow...been freezing in Brighton all day... :)

Hi folks only a small amount of progress today as I am still waiting on the filler to dry...

spent my time working on my tramp steamer (posted update of this on workbench & blog) and figuring out how I am going to deliver the pyrotechnics on this build.

I can however report that this is the heaviest build I have ever tackled - at the moment this monstrosity is weighing in at nearly 25lbs !!

More to come later in the week...

No updates for a while. Has it tipped over pinning its creator to the ground?

I like the temple at the bottom.

I'm looking forward to seeing how you'll be doing the lava and lighting; at least you won't have a problem due to lack of space; you could cram in 1,000 LEDs in this crater!
