Captain Freedom & the Fighting Four
« on: March 04, 2015, 02:53:06 PM »
A VSF/ Steampunk take on Capt. America. Capt. Freedom is a Pulp Figure, not Doc Savage, mini with a GW shield added. The upper left and lower right Fighting Four figs are from Foundry's Old West line. The other two are from Pulp Figures' Gen. Cappy Boyd & Ex. Pat. Mercenaries pack. The mini on the lower left is holding a prototype bolt action rifle that fires large caliber slugs at high velocity. A handy item when dealing with armoured vehicles and automata.

Sorry, needs fluff!  ;)

Handsome as always, of course. Just a nudge for some backstory.

Well since Doug requested it... Joshua Freeman ,a.k.a. Capt. Freedom,  was one of only two volunteers to survive the Ultra Soldier Serum trials conducted by the US Army. Most of the volunteers died or suffered bizarre physical and or mental break downs but Capt. Freedom was all they could hope for. Cap, as he is nicknamed, commands the Fighting Four, the best of the Buffalo Soldiers. If the job is dangerous and deadly you'll see our heroes in the thick of it. Whether it's science pirates or bandit kings, Capt. Freedom and the Fighting 4 get the job done! (Although the credit usually goes to the other Ultra Soldier survivor Major Victory, public face of the Ultra Soldier program.) Notice Capt. Freedom's shield, no fancy vibranium just a slab of steel thick enough to stop bullets! I had ordered the Doc Thompson minis from Pulp figures because I wanted 2 of the figs in the pack. I hadn't intended to use the Doc fig for anything but watching Capt. America and Glory over a weekend provided inspiration.
