Don's Back of Beyond
« on: February 10, 2015, 09:26:25 AM »
I am back in the back of beyond...:)

My first minis here on LAF were BoBs and now I am painting some more stuff.

First are my chinese Warlord troops.

And a close up: cant paint horses...:)

Added a few khakis to the usual warlord-blue.

And here is the link to the temple in the background wich I intend to use in the upcoming multiplayer...

Cheers,

NICE! Surprising how even 'static' marching poses can look good, especially when well painted.

Thanx, gents...:)

I wanted to raise a tibet force but the copplestone matchlock men look very boring: all the same pose...;(

Then I stumbled over a pic in the net and thought: yeah do some real tibet hillbillies with shields and bows and so.

So I plundered 1-2 Fire-Forge- steppe-warrior-sprues and mixed some greenstuff.
though I did't do the funny hats...;)

And I did the interior of the temple.

I found an old and broken key fob of my wife with a flat back.

Put some greenstuff under it and ...:)

Put a few murbles off greenstuff and "printed" with back of a brush in it, to get some plates.

And I did some paint in the temple...

The next multiplayer starts on thursday, hopfuly I get everything ready by then...:)

Cheers,
Don

o_o The Tibetan 'Hillbillies' are a superb idea! I will just have to do some in 54mm - the challenge will be what to use as base figures... American Indians? Arabs?  - can't stop, I'm off to go through my figure boxes.

Damn you Don!  ;) I am supposed to be finishing some 18th C Ottomans.

Might I suggest the new Farc cry? it's pretty much set in ''Not-Nepal'' so there's plenty of gorgeous levels/scenery to take inspiration from.
