My way too. Another recommendation for Lone Star justice. Good book.  :D

Now get on with the Comanche Nick!!  ;D

Come on Nick, get cracking  ;)

Okay, okay, I think I am pretty well getting hooked on the idea.  I already have the Western buildings, just need to build some Adobe.  Still no Commanches though!

Funnily enough I fully expect Señor Bugsda to bend my ear on the subject when we next meet.

I'm going to have to buy that book now.  lol

I haven't finsihed reading Empire of the Summer Moon yet and I got the Texas Star trilogy for Christmas, I've got a lot of catching up to do. lol

Ps I promise you that I will start the Rangers in the summer following the next two Boot Hill Alamo related releases. ;)

That's good enough for me.  :) I look forward to it.

You do realise that bugsda is half apache? Just like Burt Lancaster in Valdez..

He'll never give up 'til he gets what he wants.  lol

Really?  I don't recall any apaches in Mr Bumbles care and I have seen the movie loads of times.

Anyway Nick, are the comanches ready yet?

All,
So what other books are out there that I should read to send me totally over the edge?  Also what about movies?  Other than various Alamo films I don't know of any set in the period.

If you're looking for books on the Texas Rangers, can I recommend "The Texas Rangers, A Century of Frontier Defense" by Walter Prescott Webb. Originally published in 1935, it was reprinted by Texas University Press in 1982 and that's the edition I've got. The author interviewed ex-Rangers amongst other sources so it's very close to its subject.

I don't know how available it is now (mine so sent to me by someone in Texas in the eighties) but it's worth looking for.

Doug
