Wargaming project with thread and needle - US Navy Dicebag
« on: February 12, 2015, 08:46:06 PM »
Hi,

Apart from painting figures, I also like to sew, so what better way than to combine the two and make some dicebags for friends?

Of course, they had to fit their armies, so after some thinking I made the following:

Imperial Guard Astra Militarum bag:

Saga bag:

Civil War Union bag:

Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to make a nice Civil War Confederate bag, using greys, butternut and some checkered cloth.

Cheers
Jase

Proper! Really neat and professional-looking.

What are the extra pouches inside for? Part of the construction, or just for separating different types of dice?

Thanks!

The pouches inside are optional and can be used to keep your fatigue tokens (Saga) or your scatter dice (40K), for example.

Currently, I'm also making two bags for WW2 Naval Warfare. Should be fun, as the undersides are red and the rest is grey.

These are brilliant.  When I was in home economics in high school I got a bad grade for making a dice bag rather the one of the approved projects.

I was only in the class because all the cheerleaders were in it.  I met my future wife there too!  :)
This is my boomstick!

My missus has made a similar thing for me. Slightly different material - grey Harris Tweed lined with a prince of wales check!

A fellow must look after his dice, y'know.

Love the pockets on yours.

Brilliant! They look very well made, leagues beyond commercially available dice bags.

Took me slightly longer than expected, but I finally finished the US Navy dicebag for WW2 Naval Combat. Hopefully, I will be able to finish the Japanese one next week.

Quite happy with the result :)
