Gladiator at the Tactica show
« on: September 21, 2008, 01:23:22 PM »
Hi all ,
a few mates of mine make a gladiator game at the tactica show next year
(http://www.hamburger-tactica.de/tactica/tactica_d.html)
and I support them with a few painted figures and a pit .
The rules they use are the fantastic pitfighter rules from GW ,you can get them as a free download at the specialist games side.

BTW we use historic gladiators  ;)

I build the pit in 6h but I think it is ok for gaming

I hope to see you all at the Tactica show

cheers Grimm

Great stuff, and personally I couldn't build an arena like this in 6 weeks. :(
I love gladiators; was thinking myself setting up a gladiator game for Tactica convention, but now you've taken this idea from me. Don't care, if I get the chance to play it with you, Grimm.  lol

very, VERY nice!

i have the same figures, but not an arena as that.  i would like to hear how you made the arena - especially the hex-floor.  i see the file available from GW, but did you have any problems you might forewarn us about?  of were there things you might do different?

i use a very fast-play and exciting set of Gladiator rules called Arena Games.  they were self-produced by some friends from Rochester New York.  I lost track of them so i don't know how to recommend them to others, but i do rate the game highly!

It was all very easy I make all out of polystyrene  , I make the brickwork with a ballpen.
for the hex-floor I use the pitfighter floorplan from the rules ,copy it,pin the copy on the polystyrene ,use the ballpen to paint the hex throu the copy on the polystyrene board.

you see very easy  :D

That looks great. How did you make the walls, and how big is the overall arena?

Great painting for the walls on the Gladiator Arena!  awesome!

I gather you dry brushed those walls?

I will have to share my Gladiator arena and grid that I been working on this year.

Way to Grimm!
