scratch built medieval building...perhaps a merchant's house
« on: February 18, 2015, 05:58:57 AM »
Hi guys!!
Been a bit, but I have another project I have been working on lately...
and again mostly cardboard, foamcore and paint and time
I suppose this would be a high end village building possibly belonging to a well off person, maybe a merchant

Please let me know what ya think... I still have to make the trap door between lower and upper floor, and the shutters for the upper floor windows...
Cheers,
Carl

That's some lovely scratch-building.

That has come up a treat! Very good work. I like the detail in the door and the brickwork.  8) The shingles came out alright too. :)

Whats next on your build list?

Cheers

This building is a real treat.  Did you fabricate the stonework from foam, carved with a pen/pencil?  Well done.

Hey guys!!...Thanx for the words of encouragement!!

Constable Bertrand, I am now working on a space freighter as a break from houses and castles, but I will be to work on a medieval inn soon enough...

ffrum, yes I sure did carve the stonework with a medium BIC pen from foamcore that I got from the Dollar Tree.

This was a really fun build and not bad at 6 days in down time at work.
Thanx again,
I will be back with more builds...stay tuned! lol

A really great project! Thanks for all the in-progress photos showing how you put stuff together. I need to try my hand at using foam core now.

You are very welcome, and I hope it helped...and thank you for expressing an interest in my project....it got me to jump in and fix the links to many other posts.
Cheers,
Carl
