Very nice buildings. :-* :-*
Keep it coming.

Check these modular buildings from warbases:

Mine where made from these.

I'm using Warbases windows but I like making my own building shells, it's quicker, easier and very much cheaper.
I would have to coat all the buildings in filler or something if I used MDF shells which takes too long and is too messy for my liking. The cork is pre-textured :)

I've got 4 done now. I'm hoping to complete another two today and then spend tomorrow painting them. I think that will do me for buildings. I may do a walled farm later if inspiration strikes.

Two more:

I'll do one more substantial building tomorrow and maybe a few small sheds and huts before I start painting them.

Thank you, the fountain is from Fenris Games.
Last one before the painting:

Now that IS productivity!
Most impressive.
 :-* :-*

I reckon that you made the right choice using cork for these.
It has a most suitable texture for the subject matter.

I´ve used Vallejo Pumice to texturize mine but the effect of cork is very good.

Here they are, based and finished. I might make some walls next.

On a sadder note the courier firm have lost my parcel of painted Napoleonic cavalry so they'll need re-doing. they were looking lovely too. Oh well  :'(

Sad news indeed. Hopefully the new lot will be just as nice, if not better.

Thinking about your subject material, have you ever found a source of french and english deserters? Those were always some of my favourite episodes of Sharpe, but I've not been able to locate anything that looks right.

It would be nice to have a band of deserters. I haven't seen any figures that would suit although maybe some French on their retreat from Moscow could be rag tag enough to do the job. In reality I think it would just be a case of using existing French and English miniatures that I have and labelling them as the deserter faction for the scenario.

Some head swaps might do the trick.
Bareheads and banded heads or even with scarves mixed with the odd shako and painted with some civilian items.
Companion miniatures had some brittish light infantry with items hanged on their backpacks like rabits, boots, chickens, etc. Perfect for this scenario. :)

Good idea, mix in some civilian hats, maybe a poncho or two over the uniform. Maybe carrying lot in an off hand.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.
