Very nicely done!

I painted the neckerchiefs on mine yellow too, and then someone came along and told me that they weren't actually an issue item, so you'd get all sorts of colours and patterns... I decided that my troop had an officer who was particularly keen on creating a smart appearance, so had provided the troopers with yellow ones... I like yellow, it looks right!

Like a well known wargamer once said, when told about yellow neckerchiefs...

"If it's good enough for John Wayne, it's good enough for me!!!"

"Wot did you do in the war Grandad?"

"I was with Harry... At The Bridge!"

Agreed! Paint what you like and what you think looks good - I'm not making a documentary here, I'm playing a game!

One interesting thing that I found is about the slouch hats.  Color tended to depend on where the troops were deployed.  If they were fighting plains Indians, Sioux etc., as did Custer's men, slouch hats tended to be black.  If however they were deployed in the Southwest fighting Apaches and Commanches, slouch hats were off-white/cream colored.

Thanks all --- I wasn't aware of the neck scarf tidbit until it was raised by a few people.  I do like the yellow look ... but I think I'll change it up for the others in the gang.
