Elven army
« on: February 24, 2015, 11:28:44 PM »
A project that has hit the kerb a bit. I'm hoping posting these up will re motivate me.
Start of a 24 man unit.

as above

start of a 20 man sword and shield unit

Elite halberds

test piece for 12 man 2h weapon unit

start of a 10 man cavalry unit

test piece for a 10 man "mirror shields" unit

Hero in glass armour

A very laid back general in glass armour

The idea is for a bish bosh NMM painted army, with a combination of single and multi bases to be used with Fantasy Warriors.

Everything is just so damned good here. I seem to recall having seen a few bits before but the Mantic elves are new to me. I've always disliked the models but you've done something pretty special with the paint work. Definitely hope you get your painting mojo back.

That NMM shield is total crap. I'll send you a few minis of mine, so you can get some more practice in ::).

Gorgeous!

OOH! VERY WELL DONE!...AND that comes from the Goblin Guy! I saw the Mantic Elves when they first came out, but never painted AND certainly never to that high a standard. They have an otherworldly look to them that fits with the Faerie Realm SPLENDIDLY & which I find very appealing. Keep up the OUTSTANDING WORK...talent such as you possess is a rare thing.

By far the best work I've seen on those Mantic elves. Very inspirational!

:o wow!  I've seen some of them before, but they're still very nicely done!  I really like the use of the WoMT for the cavalry.

The glass armor is beautiful.  And the tengwar one the shields are very handsomely shaped, though it doesn't seem as though they spell anything (at least not that I can make out). Altogether a wonderful set of miniatures.
Now what is this whole life of mortals but a sort of comedy, in which the various actors, disguised by various costumes and masks, walk on and play each one his part, until the manager waves them off the stage?

Absolutely beautiful Duff.
Don't do elves and stuff myself, being a boring old more-or-less-historical-only fart.
But I know lovely quality painting when I see it.
You should see this one through I think. It's a great collection  :-*
