Anima Tactics was never the most popular game, but there were and still are some very interesting miniatures in the line, quite different from the usual GW-clones or other standard fantasy minis, so that is certainly a shame. I don't know much about the game itself but it seems like it was run into the ground with power creep and balance issues?

As for Hell Dorado, it seems you'll only be able to order them direct now? That seems stupid, but I guess I'm not the owners.

That sucks & it is stupid. While they only make wholesale on products distributed by a retail merchant, it is a guaranteed sale.
It is always sad to see an imaginative & well made line of miniatures disappear.

Hell Dorado recently made quite successful kickstarter with 1000 backers. Limiting the order options doesn't seem fair to me...

Just plain foolish. I've used both minis on occasion and they fill some nice holes and go interesting places you don't always see - they'll be much more of a pain to get now.

I look over the Anima Tactics line and really dont see much to cry about. Their line has just never interested me in the least.
But as for Hell Dorado though, not that i have much from the line and they do look good more hit or miss with me.
But like has been mentioned, not the owner here either, but i assume the Owner/owners has this all sorted out.

I'm not overly surprised about Anima Tactics. I went carefully through their range a while ago as I'm interested in sourcing larger minis from a variety of brands. I don't have a problem with Manga-ish minis, but while their range is quite extensive, I found very few to be inspiring. There were only a couple of male minis that I might consider using after extensive conversion if I really had to. I assume they also suffered from direct competition with Sodapop miniatures, which are stylistically somewhat comparable but look more exciting to me.

It's not the first time Helldorado are in trouble. I bought a few of their minis a while ago. There are some spectacular sculpts in the range and the casting is near perfect. However, they're quite expensive and the market for late fantasy medieval/renaissance period is quite crowded.

I was very disappointed at the AT news from Cipher. It may be that the range has run its course (it may be that at 9 years and over 150 unique products it has reached its natural end), but I think Cipher are in error if they think Helldorado will be sustainable via their web-store alone.

The only way I can see survival outside of distribution is regular small KS campaigns to gather the funds to create new additions - small and often. Even then, it will be a big risk and KS is something Cipher have struggled with as can be readily seen.

I wouldn't call it good news, but Cool Mini or Not is running a 40% off sale on their stock of Anima Tactics starting tomorrow, March 8th.

not a fan of their AT figures but I do like the Europeans from Hell Dorado, thinking of using them with the Nightfolk range.
guess I'll head over to ebay and pick some up tonight.

just picked up Aidan Saint James and Anna Bogna Pavlova, might pick up the hired blades and deserters also.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Always a shame to hear a creative venture has fallen flat - but I must admit I'm looking forward to the stock clearance.

I love playing Anima Tactics.  The game play was just always fun.  I found painting the miniatures very unsatisfying though.  The detail on the figures is very, very impressive, but it's so shallow.  I found it very hard to paint and get a result I was happy with.  Some of the guys I knew who played regularly were great painters and their stuff looked great, but I found it frustrating and eventually stopped buying them as a result.

I did assume that there'd be more than 48 hours between a company announcing plans for discontinuation and individuals declaring their remaining stock OOP and charging £50 a figure...

I got excited for a moment, but then realized that of the AT minis they stock that I might buy that they still have stock on, there are only two left - not worth the shipping.

Might see if I can suss some from the local shops, but I bet if you keep your eyes on ebay there'll be deals - there's always folks unloading stuff after a game dies.
